I am an avid user of Suno AIs music platform. Although I don't really put my music out there, I find it fun to utilise the platform. With the right prompt and/or lyrics and the right instruments set, music is made in minutes.
However, It came to my knowledge not too long ago that Suno AI had been sued by The Big 3 music labels (Universal Music Group (UMG), Warner Music Group (WMG), and Sony Music Entertainment) in 2024.
Given that two of the three major lawsuits have already settled into licensing deals, do you think this means the 'wild west' era of AI music is finally over, or does it just mean the rules are changing for the better? Where do you stand on the ethics of training AI on copyrighted music?
